“The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices – found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own – for the children and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to The Twilight Zone. [1]

Twilight Zone first aired 60 years ago, and today, I remain a fan of the show. The acting is excellent, stories compelling and the wisdom of Rod Serling is almost prophetic in a secular sense.

The story begins with a loud roar, followed immediately by appliances, lawn mowers phones and cars not working. Then some cars start themselves, streetlights in the town flicker, steadily blinking like a berserk stop light.  The good people of Maple Street anxiously seek answers for the unexplainable phenomena.

The suspicion, anger and fear escalate until Charlie grabs his shotgun accidentally shooting and killing Pete Van Horn because he thinks Pete is the monster doing those unexplainable things they all witness (the unintended denouement ) The camera pans back, to reveal the behind-the scenes antagonists: real aliens. All they did was plant an idea and watched as fears and suspicion overrode common sense.

Sadly, we must re-learn the scathing lessons of Rod Serling’s story  in 2019.

Wherever you stand regarding President Trump, is somewhat irrelevant for my purpose here. No one can deny the violence and acts of intimidation done to those who wear red MAGA caps and clothing. Incidents include a Native American banging a drum in the face of a 16 years-old boy in Washington.  An unruly mob chased Sara Sanders, the White House press Secretary and her husband out of a restaurant. Fast food servers regularly refuse to serve those wearing red MAGA caps and clothing; the nauseating list of egregious evils continues unabated. Did you see the 85 years-old slammed to the sidewalk and kicked numerous times because he had a pro-life banner or the collegian punched in the face because he had a pro-Trump poster? Nobody does anything about such criminal acts because radicals redefine them as a type of Orwellian double speak, calling it “free speech”.

They arrogate unto themselves right of free speech, but that right does not extend to the clothing or caps upon others.  Nor does it extend to the right of free assembly if you dislike the messages on their signs.

Another redefinition of chaotic acts done is term, “Identity Politics”; it is the generic name for those whose believe that politics is the answer to present problems, all caused by past discrimination. According to that theory, women, Native Americans Hispanics Blacks etc. are each shackled to the past, unable to achieve their destiny.

How do you determine if you are an “oppressed person”? There are no standards to make any “official identity politics member”. All that is needed to be in this class of aggrieved people is a general feeling that you or a long-lost third cousin was discriminated against by some unknown person before you or the protester were born.

How do the people believing in identity politics identify those who deserve present retaliation for past iniquities? Uniformly they share three characteristics: wealth, power and are Caucasian.  Hence. they believe Donald Trump is the epitome of the class of oppressors of minorities; he and others must have hurt others on their rise to the top, or so they believe, using “reason” salted with liberal doses of paranoia and envy.

The fruits of that reasoning is Joe Biden and other politically correct politicians apologizing for being white

In Psalm 36 David writes prophetically about those who fund the anarchy of those believers in identity politics and those deceitfully funding the caravans of bus riders from Central America attempting to come into the US. They do that because they arrogate the right to migrate anywhere they wish, and they need no reason to do so other than to create havoc and the ultimate destruction in the US.  Borders are obsolete, they say.

Psalm 36 gets it right:

Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.

He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. [2]

The arrogance and unrestrained anger of those believing in “identity politics” has an uncanny resemblance to the ginned up anarchy in Germany’s infamous Kristallnacht, November 1939.  Same Author: The Father of Lies.

Why is there no fear of God in the eyes of those creators of anarchy? Again, Scripture has the answer:

In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God[3]

Same sins, same Satan.  A sulfurous veil and their willful perpetuation of evils prevent the Light of God from penetrating their darkness.   That is why the Word of God cuts through the 24 hours news cycle of the cable outlets. God’s perspective is eternal; the perspective of their reporters is merely temporal.

When you consider that David wrote this Psalm about 3000 years ago instead of the 60 years since Rod Serling’s  science fiction stories, then you can begin to understand the eternal superiority of God’s wisdom. God knows that space aliens do not exist.

In absolute contradiction to the anarchy of “Identity politics” lays the grace and sagacity of God

PSALM 36 continues:

Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you and your righteousness to the upright of heart!

11     Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12     There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise[4]

Through the God-given wisdom of David, he emphasizes that those who trust in God receive His grace and peace. They are not arrogant; they are at peace with themselves and others.

The reason for that is God’s grace puts everything into His perspective: All who are saved, are completely forgiven sinners, forever made holy because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

In one respect, Rod Serling was correct: “The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout…” The greatest tool of conquest is the creation of indifference to what God says. That is also an aim of those in the Identity Politics movement;  is the core reason that it is so evilly wrong: it fails to get God’s perspective on how to change the future.

By the way, I will not apologize for the way that God made me: uniquely and IN HIS IMAGE
